Training Log – Week of May 26th, 2025

My training log for the week of May 26th, 2025, began with Memorial Day miles through Mission Field. No delayed onset muscle soreness from Saturday’s run and I am sure that yesterday’s stretch and ab workout helped.

Loop up Harper and through Mission Field (the chain in front of the railroad tie steps leading to the park was down for the first time in a long time) and behind Hoffmantown. Then south on Ventura and back to Harper and home. Still listening to “The Pursuit of Endurance” by Jennifer Pharr Davis.

Tuesday May 27th, 2025

I left to run with a watch that needed to be charged, and when I needed to, I switched to the Polar Flow app on my phone for the last 11:55 which isn’t included here.

Wednesday May 28th, 2025

Even though it has been since the beginning of the pandemic, I still miss the 20 years that I was running inside the Albuquerque Academy – either the perimeter trails or on the cross country course (that you can see part of in the photo).

Thursday May 29th, 2025

Very tired legs this morning. Even though I wasn’t running uphill to start, I still did the Japanese interval walking workout modified for running. I covered the distance, but there wasn’t much of a difference in pace between the walking and running intervals!

Friday May 30th, 2025

I bounced back from yesterday’s off day and did a good loop from home, mostly on the road. I did encounter some “singletrack” though and gladly hopped on it on the way back!

Saturday May 31st, 2025

I didn’t have a good rhythm this morning and was thrown off by running late and then realizing that the profile on my watch wasn’t showing pace. The run ended up being fine but it was far shorter than my usual Saturday run.

Sunday June 1st, 2025

Early run with balloons up in Albuquerque. These are make-up miles from what I should have done yesterday!
