Training Log – Week of June 2nd, 2025

My training log for the week of June 2nd, 2025 begins with an out and back east from my house toward the Sandia Mountains. I have started my runs this way, probably thousands upon thousands of times over the past 29 years.

Training Log - Week of June 2nd, 2025

Monday June 2nd, 2025

The end of the week and weekend smoke that we’ve had has been replaced today with moisture laden clouds streaming in from the west. Humid run, but I did want to get a good start on the miles for the week.

Tuesday June 3rd, 2025

Just a few high clouds to the west this morning and a beautiful view of the Three Sisters Volcanoes to the west. Judging by the debris line, it seems like there was about two feet of water in this arroyo yesterday afternoon and then again last night during the night.

Wednesday June 4th, 2025

We really seem to be having an early monsoon season as clouds are again rolling in from the west. The arroyo is empty now, but there is another moisture-laden storm predicted for this afternoon.

Thursday June 5th, 2025

I’ve been dealing with a lot of stress, so this was basically a stress-lowering run, and I accomplished that.

Friday June 6th, 2025

We have had such a string of gorgeous mornings with storms coming in the afternoon. Those are not the “buildups” over the mountain that tell us that monsoon rains are likely in the afternoon. We are getting a break from storms until next week.

Saturday June 7th, 2025

My Saturday morning park at the grocery store in the foothills, get a few things, and then run. It got too hot, but I did get up to 6,400′ before I turned around and ran back.

Sunday June 8th, 2025

I thought that Get Strong had 10 workouts and that I was finishing the program today. Then I looked at the calendar 😞

That’s my training log for the week of June 2nd, 2025, with 22.3 miles and 1,592′ of elevation gain!
