Training Log – Week of June 9th, 2025

My training log for the week of June 9th, 2025, began at my house which most of the time it does, and headed east toward the Sandia Mountains. When you realize that there is no shade, you understand why this little spot on the trail is so inviting!

Monday June 9th, 2025

This is what I really see when I am running the usual out-and-back from my house that I do. It is dirt single track 98% of the way, and I just ignore the poles and the wires!

Tuesday June 10th, 2025

I have been running on that path about 2:00 from my house for the better part of 29 years. Not every day, but it is a gateway to a lot of running adventures that lie east of my house.

And so begins another program and my quest for my 23rd completed program BODi Badge. This one could easily take until the end of the year because I think that it has 56 workouts!

Wednesday June 11th, 2025

July is supposed to be the hottest month of the year in Albuquerque, but lately it seems to be June. I couldn’t leave before 7:00 this morning, and a 7:50 start felt uncomfortable. I got some miles in, though, and that’s what matters!

Thursday June 12th, 2025

After I discovered “Jeffing” last week, I feel less embarrassed when I run and walk. This morning I used it on the uphill section and then again on the downhill home, except that I ran and did pick-ups with no walking.

Friday June 13th, 2025

I totally changed my morning routine to acknowledge that summer heat is here, and that I have to get out the door early if I want to enjoy my run. It was 6:53 this morning, and that definitely won’t be early enough tomorrow when I go longer. This is the end of the flat and up, and after this, it was flat and down!

I am now officially a BODi Ambassador, and I need to look the part. I have a bunch of BODi and BODi workout program t-shirts, and as you can see, my arms look skeletal. I am now officially working on fixing that with 25 Minute Speed Train!

Saturday June 14th, 2025

I got my 20 miles for the week and two 25 Minute Speed Train workouts, but I worked hard on the way out on this run with 593′ of elevation gain up to this turnaround at 6,358′.

Sunday June 15th, 2025

My Sunday morning ritual is to make the family breakfast, wait for my daughter to go to church, do a strength workout, and then watch the Lakewood Church service. Mission accomplished!
