Training Log for the Week of January 19th, 2026

My training log for the week of January 19th, 2026 is off to a good start. Not many, but I got in some miles, and that is what I needed. Life is not going the way that I would like it to, but rather going in the direction of God’s plan and purpose for my life, so I accept what it is and look forward in anticipation to what is to come.

I ended up running early in the afternoon, which was not what I planned. Sunny and low 50s with a 16:00 walk east toward the Sandias and then heading north and eventually looping back, running to where I parked. Total time about 48:00.

I got more value than usual from my strength workout. I finally have a spot that I can do my strength workout in the warm house (instead of the not-so-warm sunroom). Plus I do the workout on my laptop and that means that I can work if I need to between sets!

I saw a news segment about “burping” your house in the winter, but instead of doing that, I decided to go outside for a walk and get fresh air into me instead of the house! When I got back, I did a 10:00 Pilates with Kristin Condon.

I got in one more workout with my daughter, Grace, when we hiked along the Bear Canyon Arroyo.

I’ve always had my bike on a trainer, either in the sunroom or out in the garage, so I am not reminded of it very often. It was also far less appealing to be on in cold weather. Now I will be constantly reminded that I need to get on it and ride more. Who knows, maybe someday, I will even get it outside and ride it!
