Training Log for the Week of September 1st 2025

My training log for the week of September 1st 2025 begins on the anniversary of the day that I started running on September 1st, 1966. To start the week and to celebrate, I did a run up to and then up some of the Pino Trail.

Monday September 1st, 2025

I started here and ran to the mountain and up a ways. I was still 2,500′ from the top but I did get 846′ of elevation gain for the first day of the week!

Tuesday September 2nd, 2025

I live between a mountain and a river valley, and I love both. When I can’t be at one place or the other, I seek out dirt paths even when they are in a suburban setting…

Wednesday September 3rd, 2025

I was very efficient this morning, went to the grocery store at 6:20, and got back in time to start running at 7:02. Thankfully, that was just in time to catch the sunrise over the Sandias.

Thursday September 4th, 2025

Being a sunrise runner has its drawbacks. No matter what, you have to be out the door before or as the sun is rising. Definitely not going for a streak on this one!

Friday September 5th, 2025

I changed my plans and headed east again just because of how beautiful the sunrise over the Sandias was. Almost the same location for the photo, but never the same sunrise.

Saturday September 6th, 2025

The view from the Bosque Trail at the southern edge of the Sandia Pueblo Reservation which is 101 square miles of central New Mexico north of Albuquerque.

Sunday September 7th, 2025

The State Fair grounds are flat and the only downhill and uphill is walking through a tunnel under the Albuquerque Downs Racetrack. How I got 402′ of elevation gain, I don’t know!
