Training Log for the Week of December 29th, 2025

My training log for the week of December 29th, 2025 is the last few days of a very good year of running and the start of a new one. I came within 12 miles of a 1,000-mile running, hiking, and walking year in 364 days . It can’t get much better than that!

Monday, December 29th, 2025

I did an eco-friendly grocery store loop and then did three of the 10 Minute Focus workouts with Kelsey Heenan. She is an excellent trainer.

Tuesday December 30th , 2025

Today I did the 10 Minute Focus workout first and did Legs 1, Cardio 1, and Arms 1. Tonight we are going to River of Lights, and that will be my walk!

We saw her at the ABQ BioPark River of Lights. Not much of a fence to keep her in, but thankfully I think that they are vegans!

Wednesday December 31st , 2025

I started and finished my end-of-year walk seeing the arroyo roadrunner. He and his wife were also there when I got back!

“Roadrunners are widely considered symbols of good luck, strength, speed, and protection in Native American and Mexican cultures, seen as “medicine birds” that ward off evil spirits, with their X-shaped tracks used to confuse spirits. Seeing one or finding its tracks is a positive omen, representing resilience, courage, and guidance, and their feathers were used for protection.”

Thursday January 1st, 2025

I started the New Year with a run and went past the spot where, 13 years ago, on New Year’s Day, I experienced a complete root tear of the medial meniscus in my right knee. It happened at this very spot, and I had to hop across this field and get a ride home. That morning, I ended up in the ER and came home with a brace on my knee and on crutches. I am thankful that this run was uneventful!

Friday January 2nd, 2025

The plan was to do three 10 Minute Focus workouts and then run. I did Flexibility 1, Legs 1, and Chest 1, got dressed to run, but had to cancel the run. In this very bad flu season, even with the shot, I decided not to run in the rain and wind…

Saturday January 3rd, 2025

Beautiful run in the foothills this morning in shorts in January, felt hot because I had a T-shirt and light long sleeves on. I even saw a honey bee!

Sunday January 4th, 2025

I have been so lazy about doing enough strength workouts but now I can’t do them fast enough. Three more workouts from 10 Minute Focus Week 2.
