My training log for the week of May 11th starts after my highest mileage week in years, and the high from watching the Cocodona 250. I created a post with links to all of the Cocodona livestreams because this year’s event was one for the ages. It definitely gave me a lot of motivation going into this week.

When Rachel Entreken finished the Cocodona 250 2026 and ran the fastest time ever run, she slept for 18:00 over the course of 56 hours and 9 minutes. I definitely don’t need a rest day to start the week, so I did uphill pickups for about a mile of the loop that I did.
I started Job 1 again because Jennifer Jacobs reminds me of my ex. I think 20:00 is the perfect length for my short attention span with strength workouts!

A smokey mountain during my run this morning from the 6 Mile Fire about an hour and a half south in Magdalena, NM.

I started my run just before sunrise and didn’t realize that the mountain is even smokier today than yesterday. Wildfires and smoke are just a natural part of summer in the southwest!

This morning was my last run this week. Maggie the Dog is coming this evening and staying until Monday morning this time. I made the most of it with an unexpectedly longer run than planned. I was well hydrated but under-fueled with just one Honey Stinger. That won’t happen again.

My daughter’s dog Maggie helps me get time on my legs, even if it is walking. We did an out-and-back to a turnaround with a view of Mt. Taylor to the west. Wildfire smoke is partially obscuring it.

In a 3.5 mile out and back trail from home, there is only one spot with shade and it is about a mile and a quarter in. When we got there, I set up a “shade station” for Maggie to drink and have 3 Dog Bakery treats!
