Training Log for the Week of May 25th 2026

My training log for the week of May 25th 2026, continues the pattern of runs, hikes, and walks with Maggie the Dog, which means more miles than I have been doing in quite a while. I am embarrassed to admit that I did no strength training this week, so I will correct that this week. To see a summary of my training, scroll down to the Strava Leaderboard at the bottom of the post.

The hike that Maggie and I did last evening foretold today’s weather. Moisture-laden clouds coming in from the west, and clouds on the mountain to the east this morning.

Tuesday, May 26, 2026

Three Maggie walks yesterday to start the week and then a Maggie walk this morning before I ran. I am getting a lot of miles with that dog!

Wednesday May 27th, 2026

Starting out running uphill at altitude is no fun, so I did a hike uphill first and then a run back!

I did the singletrack hike to this spot and then ran back, all downhill!

Thursday May 28th, 2026

The best way for me to start my high-stress morning was to get out the door at 6:06 and catch a beautiful sunrise!

Friday May 29th, 2026

I shouldn’t have to do hill repeats at altitude, but that’s what I did on a little “hill” this morning!

Evening walk with an almost full moon!

Saturday, May 30, 2026

Out and back 4-mile walk with Maggie the Dog to the Open Space by the Albuquerque Latter Day Saints Temple, with the Sandia Mountains in the distance.

Maggie’s evening walk with the sun setting and Mt. Taylor in the distance.

Sunday, May 31st, 2026

An almost sunrise 4-mile loop with Maggie the Dog with the Sandia Mountains in the distance.
