My training log for the week of June 8th, 2026 starts with a “rest” because my daughter’s dog Maggie is still with me and we are just walking. If you look at my May 2026 Polar training log you can see that once she started staying with me a few days a week, my mileage went up because of having to walk her two, if not three, times a day. If only I could get her to run, but at least for the time being, she is too hyper to even try it!

Maggie and I have a good 1.6-mile loop that we do, always starting at sunrise now that the hot weather is here and always doing the second walk at sunset.

My daughter Grace picked up Maggie after her shift at the hospital this morning but not before she and I could do a good loop. We saw the sunrise and a storm heading our way from the west. In the evening, I did another walk on a very warm evening.

Our destination was the Rio Rancho Bosque Nature Preserve, but we settled for Siphon Beach in Corrales. We may have to go to the Nature Preserve next time because the Rio Grande is quickly drying up :(.

Downhill run from home just to measure the distance. It was a bucket-list run that was actually pretty dumb, but I did it.

Friday June 12th, 2026
A super stressful time in my life, having to move the next day. I just could bring myself to run so I did sunrise and sunset walks.

Saturday June 13th, 2026
Moving day, so a walk in the morning, three hours of moving, and then a walk with my daughter’s dog Maggie in the evening.

Sunday June 14th, 2026
Sunrise and sunset walks with my daughter’s dog Maggie!
