Training Log – Week of August 17th 2026

My training log for the week of August 17th 2026, started with a change-of-pace hike in the Sandia Mountain foothills. With the brutally hot summer that we (and so many other parts of the country) are having, I took advantage of a cooler morning to take my daughter’s dog on a short adventure.

Maggie the Dog and I parked at a grocery store in the foothills and started our hike east. I was alert for bears since there have been so many sightings lately, but we didn’t see any wildlife other than some beautifully singing birds.

My daughter’s dog Maggie stayed another day because she worked another shift at the hospital. Maggie and I made the most of it by doing another hike in another part of the foothills.
